Well at least if Biden owns house and senate they can enact laws that will resurrect R V W which SCOTUS cannot take away. Maybe another ultrarightwingnut POTUS who also owns house and senate can reverse it but that would be years down the road and may not happen anyway. It doesn't need to be an actual amendment but would be great if that came about because of an overwhelming dem victory.

The truth is that she and her family are too good for Washington politics, and she knows it. She wants to protect them from it, not thrust them back in the middle of it. She's happy now, why ruin that?

The fact of the matter, which sh76 won't admit, is that the protests of the Gaza war on US campuses have been almost entirely nonviolent though some have been marked by civil disobedience (say of the sort a man we now have a national holiday in honor of routinely engaged in). There is simply no comparison between these protests and the mass violence of January 6, 2021 and it doesn't matter who suggests differently.

I think the best solution is to paint it the color your wife wants. Fwiw, I now think the heavy dark blue might be a bit much, perhaps too masculine, as she has said. It also will hide the dirt and dust from the burner, requiring more work when you do clean the space. I would suggest a lighter shade, try to make the wife happy in that regard, perhaps a pastel or light blue at first. See how she likes that, and maybe repaint it, working up to a darker shade that might be a medium compromise between what you want and what she wants, something you can both live with.

There are 11 recognized Federal holidays in the US, most are Mondays, but several of them are always on the day set aside for them, like Independence Day is always the 4th of July, no matter what day of the week that is. In that case, if they fall on a Sat. or Sun., the nearest workday is counted for the holiday as well.

How many of these "bank holidays" are there in the UK? And are there other holidays?
