there used to be a monthly sub option, for $5 for something, obviously you could abuse it. pay once load up on games and not renew for months. they should bring back a similar thing with a games cap though, for people unwilling to commit $40 for a full year but who want to experience some of the benefits of a subscription. say $10 for 3 months with a cap of 30 games or something.

As you are a non sub and UK based a few simple questions
Do you have the cheapest possible broadband package?
If not, why not change and subscribe to RHP using the money saved?
Did you go for a few drinks at the weekend?
If so why not cut back on 1 drink per nightout and subscribe to RHP using the money saved?
There are plenty of ways to save the few £'s it costs to be a subscriber so rather than moan about wanting this and that as a non sub, pay up and get the perks.

No difference with what RHP are offering - its a long term loyalty discount.

and it's not a 'long term loyalty discount', as soon as your card expires you're back to paying full price. for you this could happen next year while someone who joined two years after you who also got the lower price will continue to pay less as their card has a few more years before it reaches its expiration date.
your favorite take-away that you visit often increases its prices, you enter at the same time as a new customer. do you get the old prices as a sign of loyalty or do you get the same new price as the new customer?
the payment structure on rhp is ridiculous.
