I might also add that soccer is not that popular in the US so the ticket price for LA game will be high.

Most of Beckham salary is linked to his deals not his playing. He made Real Madrid a fortune and Man Utd before that. Real Madrids market value will take a huge knock, just like Man Utd's did.

He was easily England best player for 5 years and plays with passion and is the best set piece player and long passer I have ever had the fortune to watch. I have spoken to a number of people who have met him and they all say what a nice fellow he is.

I am a huge Beckham fan but even at his best he has never been in the top three players in the world. But face facts, Ronaldhino is butt ugly.

That's interesting.

Did you ever see McBride or Bacanegra play for Fulham?

I guess that the best US player of all time is probably one of the three goalies.

Good point - could be.

One of the best players England ever had was a goalie - Gordon Banks.

Ah, good ole, one eyed Gordy banks. '66 World Cup, Englands finest moment, but Gordy had his finest moment in the '70 WC.

Banks was great.

Most of the US players play in the MLS or in the EPL.

We've just started to see our guys play on the continent and as far as I know never in South America.

I think the US is better than a lot of people give us credit for being. It seems likely we will continue to produce a string of excellent goalies and we will get better in the field. I bet we shock some people in 2010.

It's pretty popular in LA. The Mexicans like it.

That shouldn't be long thankfully, the fans and the press will soon tire of Erikson's tactical clone.

What Englishman was better than Beckham during his prime?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a huge Beckham fan; but he was pretty much the best that England had to offer for a number of years.
