Yeah, call it for what it is, rather than give it that other name, what a mockery. All the fundo Christians' fault, AGAIN. All the posts are going on about "blood" at present as they slug it out over some minor verse near the back flap.

No personal abuse allowed. or swearing. No singling people out, that's weak.

Come On, let's go for it? There's a lot of them fundos here - we'll probably be outnumbered. Are you game?

I'd somewhat selfishly like to see some good writing here, poetry great quotes, or just tell how you feel as best you can. Remember nasty is not a good argument or a precise stating of how you feel. There are some rules to this bunfight post and I'm the referee! I'll call out when there is a nasty transgression.

So it's kind of like that old 'let's you and him fight' thing, eh🙂

So I'll start off saying all theists are full of crap, nobody knows what real spirituality is anyway since all religions are started by men, mostly men, not women and exclude women from the upper ranks, tells me they are just after power any way they can get it, to hell with real spiritual values as long as we get to stay in power. And more specifically, we at our level of intellectual development, which I think we all agree could be a lot stronger as a race, would not know anything about some advanced being who would set itself up as a god, giving godly advice to some shepherd 3000 years ago, said shepherd wouldn't know a god from a gopher. Therefore all so-called god inspired religions would be suspect from day one. SHOULD be suspect.

It would be much more cathartic to actually throw some cream or jam filled buns at some of the people you disagree with, rather than having to string sentences together.

One day as technology advances our holograms could square up in cyberspace with an endless supply of CGI buns.

Nope. Just not gonna do it.

I will say that yes, all paths have errors, but only because we are human. The error is always our own. God, who designed our path, does not make errors. The error comes about when we fail to follow it as designed.

Thanks sonhouse. A bit more intense and focussed than "lets' you and me fight thing". Make it matter by being clear and as precise and logical as you can. Be real. What really gets up our noses about fundamentalism?

The totally compliant and denying patriarchal Orthodox Church needs to be strongly confronted by its lack of responding to the obvious needs of its majority deprived populous, under a government of corruption and deceit. Instead, like other places, it runs the ceremonies for Rasputin and blesses here and blesses there, and Jesus dies again, while Judas slinks off. They turned away too, while the Jews were persecuted, everytime. What a useless piece of baggage for Jesus to carry around! He'd take the whip to them for their apostasy of his message.

Who will pray for Pussy Riot in jail?

Every attempt by women (by even mentioning capability, we are downgrading them immediately) to participate in the leadership of the church has been blocked at every juncture, in every brand. They are the source of "sin"! How off is that!

Whole denominations (thankfully, not all, and being led by the American churches, three cheers!) are ready to split bigtime over the issue of women in the church. But don't mention greed and devotion to Mammon too much. or other glaring real issues. What a blind tragedy!

Christian women and nuns, continue to speak up loudly in the name of your Christ! Away with the textual nitpickers and misogynists!

Oh, to have a female Pope (preferably younger than in their eighties) and some female Cardinals, priests and Protestant ministers of healing and help!

Please stop degrading "my mother and my sister and my wife".

Fine, wonderful, educated, powerful, compassionate women - celebrate them, don't reject them or hide them away.
