Er...um....we are bankrupt which is mainly due to their lying.
Well you can sue those who made you bankrupt - if they broke the law in doing so. But it wasn't so much politicians as bankers and your own selves that were responsible for the recent economic downturn.

Without turning this into a thread about something else, lest just suffice it to say that they two biggest offenders in terms of tax payer dollar bail outs were Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. There were two government created firms that were "privatized" and, at the same time, overseen and regulated by the government. In fact, all other government bail outs have been payed back or will soon be payed back except Fannie and Freddie. In fact, it is estimated that the US tax payer will have to shell out trillions more to continue to bail them out.

Having said that, the crux of the problem were having firms that were "too big too fail". This in contrary to how capitalism works because every business should fail at some point, but when they can't you move to a type of crony capitalism. It is then my contention that the problems lie with big government and large corporations who begin to mimik small governments themselves. The collusive nature of big government and large corporate America should be evident as the entire nation was fleeced using tax payer dollars used to bail out corporate America. So what heads rolled in corporate America? What heads rolled as our politicians sang the praises of Fannie and Freddie right before their collapse? None. Go figure. There only goal was to insure the survival of the money that props up big government. As usual the average Joe became their whipping boy.

The great part about being a crook and having government on your side is that you can then make anything legal. If not, who then payed for the credit crisis other than law abiding citizens?
