Not a very well thought out rebuttal. I guess you have nothing from the teachings of Christ to support your church doctrine.

Here is another point. The Priest and the Levite could have prayed and read the Bible all day, and still Jesus Christ would not give them eternal life in the Kingdm of God. While the Good Samaritan, [who quite likely did not pray much neither read the bible] who stopped and helped the man, is the one who will enter the Kingdom of God.

Jesus looks at what you do .. acts of charity and selflessness.
Reading the bible and praying are acts which promote only oneself.

Reading the Bible and praying is what led to millions of American Christians voting for "creepy porn president" Donald Trump [and his huge tax cuts for billionaires who presumably, er... don't put riches before God, er... like him].

Dive asked what does it entail [for you] to give your life over the the Lord, and your answer has almost no basis in what Jesus preached.
You should try being specific in your criticism pointing out the errors you claim are there. Just making a blanket statement is meaningless and helps no one understand what you see as the errors. The way you do is vague without meaning and could possibly be taken as a personal swipe not a scriptural correction.

Little do you know, neither do you understand what Jesus preached. The choice of a Samaritan and two of the Jews top contenders for the Kingdom of God, a priest and a Levite, was done to highlight and condemn the very same mistake people make. You are a prime example of that.

The Jews thought that the Samaritans did not know God and had the wrong God. Yet the ones who claim to have the 'right' God were so arrogant that they refused the help people in need. Why? Because they knew the 'right' God .. just like you. The ones who just proceed with their lives doing good works and living righteously are the ones who will enter the Kingdom of God.

You are just another arrogant Christian loaded with false teachings and a shallow understanding of what Jesus requires of people. You are in the same boat like the priest and Levite... headed for damnation.

Simple logic Rajk. You know the wrong Jesus, therefore you don't know anything except what your father has taught you, and that is to judge, condemn and destroy.

I think you mean simpletons logic... the Samaritan knew nothing. He just did the right thing. The priest and levite knew everything but did nothing.

You are making that up, the Good Samaritan was just a story Jesus told to illustrate a point and yet you are comparing him to real people as if you knew where he went after he died, and why! You should stick to just the Word and not add to it or take away from the text as you have done here.

I tried to keep it simple for you, yet you still replied to something I didn't say.

You know the wrong Jesus. The Jesus you know is like you, full of hate, bigotry, condemnation and judgmentalism.

You're the forum tyrant.

But yeah, IDK. You can argue about this from some other perspectives but God is merciful.
Just listen to yourself sometime, worshiping man made gods, it is really sad. Ok for Muslims to kill infidels and Christians are on the top of the list for that even though they worship the exact same man made god.

I would LOVE for a REAL god to come down and straiten them out😉

Of course that would never happen since humanity is under quarantine if there really is a god out there, which serves us right, making up what humans think a god should be like. The REAL gods must be having a great belly laugh over all this, assuming they have bellies.

Actually no, we don't worship the exact same god. Without exception all the gods made
by man vary because each individual has what they think god is in their head, and that is
the one people either reject or accept in some fashion. That doesn't however mean that
they grasp God, the real one He isn't as simple as the ones we make up.

Jesus preached quite a bit, and without changing a word of this text, I'd say it is better to
be humble than to exalt one's self over others.

Luke 18: 9-14
He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous,
and treated others with contempt: “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a
Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed
thus: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or
even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.’ But the tax
collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast,
saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his house
justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the
one who humbles himself will be exalted.”
