I said 'reinforce his genuineness'. I didn't say he wasn't aleady genuine.
Sometimes I dont know why I bother.
If Jesus was a real person it is fair to say he did some real things. If he didn't have sex thats fine, but to assume he didn't have sex because he was 'special' just makes his example seem out of reach to the average person.
then again what I think 'spiritual person' means and what a lot of christians thinks it means seems to vary a bit. I think that spirituality is available to everyone regardless of there disposition towards sex or anything else.

You probably then think men can also be menopausal? Ever heard of climacterium? Brush up on biology a bit!
The Oxford English Dictionary says otherwise about 'virgin'. See definitions 6 and 7. Hell, even Chaucer used 'virgin' in reference Jesus explicitly, and that was over 600 years ago.

Jesus never married.
It is against the law to have sexual relations outside of marriage.
Jesus never broke the law.

That's all there is to it.

Are you asking if Jesus died as a virgin and implying femininity?

People are queuing up here to make fools of themselves.

Do you really think this spiritual/doctrinal question is going to be settled by selecting only one out of half a dozen dictionary definitions and pretending that this freefloating selectivity is how one cancels out the premise of a question?

Sorry FMF, I was really thinking you might have had some angle you were working on there. It was a serious question, but I shall go away in shame.

is it true jesus never broke the law?? he tended to complete the law, but when questioned on the law he always answered by sighting discrepenceys within the law, ie "have you never read that david entered the santuary to eat what was holy" . they will fast after the bridegroom has gone".
never married? another debateable point, magdaline was loved by jesus and was the first to see the risen christ, she was wrongly given as a prostitute by the catholic church, why?? when its more indicated she was cured of leprosy . Plus he was belived to be about 30 when started his teachings.
so why would he being married cause such a problem.

The problem is nobody knows (as BW corectly pointed out) and furthermore nobody cares.

What i mean is that people will often speculates based on there belief system and viewpoint: Christians will not even consider it a possbility because invaldates the NT position, and most non-Christians don't really care and those who do probably hope he got laid at lot because a) blokes should, and b) because it invalidates the NT position.
