Certainly, you are not to eat animals while they are still alive, but you are not to drink or eat the blood either.

Before man fell, God did not ordain for man to eat flesh. After the fall at a certain point God ordained animal flesh should be eaten by fallen man.
At first man was to live off of fruits, vegetables, and nuts prepared by God in His creation. But because man fell into a sinful and corrupt nature. he needed the shedding of blood for redemption and also flesh of animals for nourishment and sustenance.
The animals included in man's diet is a universal reminder that man needs the redeeming Son of God. Man needs Christ to shed His blood on the cross and sacrifice His life to redeem fallen sinners.
With Christ's redemptive life we are nourished, fed, and sustained so that we may live.

Some cattle are raised for beef. The females may be kept longer as they produce calves, but ultimately they too get slaughtered for beef.
Some cattle are kept for dairy. Their calves of both sexes are slaughtered for meat. Again both sexes are slaughtered. In some cases there will be a bull kept for breeding purposes and he ...[text shortened]... ops too much.
My guess that a typical hamburger is equally likely to have meat from either sex.
