I like beer. Yesterday it was over 90 degrees and I was working outdoors, and in, on a variety of projects around the house. Sweat a lot and drank a lot, but didn't get drunk. Cold beer makes the heat bearable as well as keeping me limber and eases the stiffness of sore muscles.
I don't feel any conviction morally or otherwise about it. It's my life and I'll enjoy it as I see fit.
There's a line somewhere, and each has his own.
But all that doesn't lower the biblical standard, which prohibits drunkenness.

Clearly, the Bible isn't against drinking alcohol, if done responsibly.

The morality of a well-adjusted adult doesn't disintegrate under the influence of alcohol. If sobriety alone is keeping someone decent (or religion for that matter) then the person's morality is itself suspect.
