Rushing to Get Home.

A person drives from A to B to get to work at a constant speed of 30 km/hr. They were running a little late for a hot date, so they decided to rush a little bit on the way home. If the average speed the person traveled over the round trip form A to B and B to A was 55 km/hr, how fast were they traveling on the way home?

You can't add the speeds and divide by 2 to get 55 because the amount of time taken is different for each.

Correct because 55 is an average itself.
I think the equations are 30+x/2 =55
30x/55= y," y " being the answer.
I'll try it later.

Ok. I got the formula slightly wrong, but I have amended it and arrived at an answer.
I can only hope there were no police about when he was driving home!!
