Hi Andy,

A Lamour is in.

'White played a Lamour.'

White has taken a brilliant idea played in a previous game and screwed it but still won.

(Never heard the original - does it have the mouth organ bit in it.)
I doubt it. Only yodelers need mouth organs.

"Girl's just want to have fun" by Cyndi Lauper (Actually written by Robert Hazard, but Lauper changed the words), for when a Windmill manoeuvre is executed with a Queen and she gobbles up half the opposing army.

When a pawn is promoted you played an 'M People' moving on up.
Could also be used when a pawn is just moving on up the board 🙄

Bungle in the Jungle by Jethro Tull .
And who can forget the hit song by the Jefferson Airplane which contained the line "and the white knights' talking backwards and the red queens lost her head". You should ask Alice (when she is ten feet tall). Feed your head.

"White has an Eddie Cochran."

An Eddie Cochran is a passed pawn on the 5th rank.

'Three Steps to Heaven' by Eddie Cochran.

If you are toiling, or indeed want the basic chords to hundreds of golden oldies.

A brilliant site that one for guitar tabs. Not gimmicks or adverts.

Thumbs up for the Eddie Cochran reference.

GP, if you get the chance, listen to "Cmon Everybody" and "Let's Get Together"- we get the same song (position) by a transposition of words (moves).

I bought a Cochran cassette when I was in college back in the '80s, and the first song was on one side, and the second on the other. When I heard the second one, it was "Hey, waitaminnit...."

Hi Paul

I can see using a 'fast Eddie.'.

I have nothing but CD's/LP's of 50 and 60's artists - lost count how many.
I know the song you are talking about.

There's no need to fear! Blunderdog is here!

when criminals in this world appear
and break the laws that they should fear
and frighten all who see or hear
the cry goes up both far and near
for blunderdog! Blunderdog! blunderdog! BLUNDERDOG!

speed of lightning, roar of thunder
fighting all who rob or plunder
blunderdog. Blunderdog!

when in this world the headlines read
of those whose hearts are filled with greed
who rob and steal from those who need
to right this wrong with blinding speed
goes blunderdog! Blunderdog! blunderdog! BLUNDERDOG!

speed of lightning, roar of thunder
fighting all who rob or plunder
Blunderdog. BLUNDERDOG!
