That one's already been done.

There's no need to stay ahead of the curve. Two is plenty. Nothing else needs to be done. And you're welcome... and possibly starting to learn.. it's a little early to say.

I seen another Clan America lad too went to Africa.

Brown Bear:

"Sorry, took a long hiatus lost on the dark continent for many moons."

"...many moons?" That is Apache talk.

Some Clan this Clan of America. (!!!!!!!!!!) I love them.

An African Explorer, a Professor who speaks gobbledygook a red Indian,
a 78 year old champion chess player and Alice the girl next door.

🙂

This is clan baiting, I'm not in a clan. Am I allowed to do this?

This is much more fun than talking about the Colle.

Do you mean "friends" or "personalities"?

Nobody has said anything about K & P using a computer. Nobody.

Remember it was DerJager that started this thread.

Everybody (including me) agreed he was a good player.
Looking at his games I just see a good player who is taking his time.

The fun started when it was noticed that the picture pos asy would it be to use a box to get into the top ten and then start
charging for lessons.
We're good GP. I only commented about his age and ability to play. I've had the opportunity to see lots of older players (I live in Florida, the "old chess player capitol of the US" ) who were past their prime, but were still dangerous OTB.

I don't know who mentioned the computer part, but I'm not going to worry about that- it's part and parcel of almost any thread nowadays!

Mostly, I think age affects stamina rather than ability directly. I would imagine these guys would be even more deadly in CC format.

I only interpreted your comments as honest speculation about the ability of an older person to perform at a high level, and I just wanted to add my observation and experience to your thoughts. In the games I saw, K&P avoids high energy-sapping complications, and instead keeps things simple, which is consistent with the idea of an older player relying on his experience and good technique to win games.

Perhaps different "personality" settings.

Maybe this is all a social experiment by the professor.

That's desperate and uncalled for. One step forward two steps back. You have no idea how to play.

Of course not.
Have always added 'Red' when needed so it does not get confused with
a Lad who comes from India.

However I have just googled and it says:

Red Indian "....now considered offensive." Now is that is new to me.

I should have used the term 'Native American'. Appologies.

I won't edit it out. Others can learn.

Hi Alice1,

I don't think GP meant any harm at all by this. UK culture and language is different than ours in ways that sometimes confuse all involved because we share the same language in theory but not always in context.

I'm pretty confident that he meant it in the same context an American might say "person of color" with honest intent. Making this an issue only detracts from the others in the thread, so I'd just let it go.

I'm just trying to help here, so I hope this will be interpreted in that context.
