That is the signs of an old good player. They still maintain their positional sense.
If you read the Scotland on Sunday article you will see my OTB game
suffered due to the 3rd hour. The adrenalin rush at my age tires you out.
Here I cannot fall back on good positional sense. (I never had any to begin with) 🙂
You can still get mixed up with the sharp stuff but my wee tricks and traps
which served me so well OTB can look silly on here when they don't come off.
Looking at few of KP's games I see a couple of times he has been let off
(that is my opinion) not by his good play but by a poor choice of moves
from his opponent. A good example is a GIP so I won't go further.
That is not box play, also there is a certain 'him' that runs through his games.
A good player but possibly not who he claims to be.
He's too good to just appear at that age. He must have an OTB grade somewhere.
(he's that old it could be in latin...my first one is.) 😉
