Our 27. ... Nxd5 was met by 28.Bf2.

Nc3 looks like the most active solution here.

I agree, but how would we continue after 28...Nb6?


29...e5 followed by 30...Bf5?

30...Be6(so long as the knight is pinned) followed by Ra4?

30...Be5 to stop the f-pawn and eye the g3 and f4 squares?

..Be6 takes the B out of danger, protects the N and aims the B at the a2 square. Then both of our bishops form a battery aimed at the white king.

After that, we can take the c2 pawn with our rook, move the N to e4 and we've got our entire army in hot pursuit of his king.

I'd like to know whats wrong with Rc2? Followed up by Nc3.

OTOH,

29 ..Rb4+
30 Kc1
30 ..Nc3

If the rook moves along the first ran, we take the knight.
If the rook moves to d2 or d3, we take the a2 pawn with check.
If the knight moves to c6, forking our rook and pawn, ..Rb1+, Kd2 ..RxR+ and we win.

28 ... Nc3 is better.
If 29.Rd2 then 29 ... Rb4 and threat of Rb1 - mate.
If 29.Rd3 then 29 ... Bf5.
If 29. Rook leave line "d" we can capture on d4.

Right now I'm glad we went with 23. Qxc4. I wasn't going to vote for it, but that move put our rook on a very nice squre.

And we offer a draw, post the mainline of our draw and if he declines we go ahead and refute his winning line. I am certain we have a draw in the bag, and after looking into it a lot, and with the rest of you obviously doing the same, I think the only continuation we can play is for the draw, there is no win for us that I can possibly see
