my credit card was changed recently and subscription lapsed. I cannot remember which clan ejected me. can i just join any clan now.

you can join up to 4 clans if you wish

You were in Express Lane. You can apply to join any clan you wish (that doesn't already have 20 members), and it's up to the clan leader to accept or reject you.
