Troubled paradigm surrounding Ian Watkins (the singer). He needs a good one.

??[not 100% sure on this one, will explain later if necessary]

DIAPHRAGM

Feel free to tell me off if my clues weren’t fair or if the word was too medical for you?

Mid Riff - midriff is the region where the diaphragm is.
Polka dot bikini - bikini’s show off the midriff.

This one may get you hyperventilating. Mindful breathing may help - the diaphragm, an abdominal muscle, aids the lungs in filling and emptying.

Dr Pam Ghia - anagram of diaphragm.

Troubled paradigm surrounding Ian Watkins (the singer). He needs a good one - Ian Watkins, a Steps singer was known as H.
Troubled Paradigm - paradigm + H is an anagram of DIAPHRAGM.

Orangutan got there first I think?

I don’t suppose you forgot an E at the end?

'fraid not.

It's a beautiful example of a good cryptic clue where the surface reading has nothing at all to do with the solution.

It's also pretty devious in the word play.
To rephrase -
pierce Brosnan's heart beat

Note the difference(s) to my original clue. Discard the surface meaning,
In a cryptic clue, usually (but not always) one word (or possibly a phrase) is a synonym for the answer - by convention (though again, not always) usually at one end or the other of the clue.

I can't take credit for this clue - it was found in my Saturday paper.

STICK !

Pierce Brosnan's heartbeat. A STICK pierces a heart as in Cupid’s arrow.

STICK and the clue twist - These are primary commands in Banking games like Pontoon and Blackjack.

(as long as you adhere to the rules) - STICK to the rules.

Heartbeat - Beat with a STICK.

Ah - S is mid Brosnan. Did get the tick bit.
Quite a multi-layered clue I see.
