Wife cooked up some chicken flautas, rice, and beans for tonight's supper.
New Year's morning we will have tamales. Same as Christmas morning. And Thanksgiving morning. And Halloween night. And all Jewish holiday mornings. Most Hindu ones. Monday mornings are fine too.

I live in Phoenix, so yeah, it's a "thing" here. Even Costco has tamales, but homemade is so much better.
