Of course, what Republicans also usually "forget" is that you shouldn't compare the cost of a monarchy against that of a vacuum. You should compare against a presidency, which tends to be rather pricy itself, what with the inevitable egos and grandstanding.

There seems to be a trend for people in certain positions of privilege to be seen as legitimate targets for hate just because of the good fortune that has landed them in that privilege.
