#36. Surprising your husband with an old-fashioned meal he recalls from childhood and making him so grateful that he washes the dishes. (Just happened!) 😉

As I said, it was an old-fashioned farmer's meal. Simple but satisfying and brought back memories. Bulk sausage that is specially seasoned at the little grocery store ....the only grocery store...at our county seat. Crumbled and fried. Add flour and water to thicken, and then add milk. In the old days it would have been cream from one of your cows out in the barn. Serve over potatoes mashed with butter. Fresh or frozen peas cooked and served separately. A dill pickle for extra flavor along-side. For dessert....a lemon cookie and milk. Simple fare for simple folks.

#45. The good feeling of knitting needles or a crochet hook in your hands. The warm colors of the yarn taking shape slowly, day after day. Just the rhythm of the repeated motions calm your spirits. The finished product to gladden some youngster.
