Just one sentence of each, please. That way everyone gets a fair go.

My country is: Australia.
I like: the way that compulsory voting ensures that we all have a say in how we live our lives, not just those with the biggest pockets and the loudest voices.
I dislike: the way that we are a huge empty country, yet 95% of us are crowded into a few enormous cities developed around the two great gods: (1) car (2) enormous house.

My Native Country's the USA. I appreciate the Freedoms of Speech, Assembly, Religion, Gun Ownership (by responsible law abiding citizens, without felony records), Private Property, etc., we still enjoy. I'm concerned with the all time lowest common denominator of uninformed voters.

My country is: USA.
Like: The balance of freedom and security, which exists so long as we keep a check on those who would screw it up for their personal gain.
Dislike: That I have to tolerate those people's right to (peacefully) try to do just that.

USA.

Like: our optimism, diversity, freedom of thought and action.

Not so much: our level of polarization and a need to win every time is stopping us from making rational decisions.

If things persist you could lose Scotland in 2014
and your flag has gone from Belfast as well.

My Country is Ireland.

What I like about Ireland is that the rain has made it a green and fertile country.
What I don't like is all the rain.

I live in Indonesia.

Like: it's interesting to live and work in a democracy that's little more than a decade old, with a steadily consolidating civil society and growing sense of possibility, potential and personal autonomy.

Dislike: the sometimes hard-to-shake-off political legacy of more than 30 years of military dictatorship and those political figures that would exploit any and all bumps in the road as the country gradually progresses in so many ways.

Sweden:

+ Democracy, monarchy, lots of space, Allemansrätten (in short: Allemansrätten gives a person the right to access, walk, cycle, ride, ski, and camp on any land—with the exception of private gardens, the immediate vicinity of a dwelling house and land under cultivation.)

United Kingdom

Like

The fact that we do not have compulsory voting, the fact that organisations like the BNP and EDL are allowed to air their beliefs in public, the fact (very nearly) that you can marry who you want to irrespective of race, colour, religion and gender, country pubs

Dislike

The BNP and EDL. The rise of vertical drinking establishments. Attempts to increase the ability to deprive someone of their liberty for extended periods without hard evidence or having to charge them with a crime.

United States

Like: Personal freedom and the right, or choice, to succeed or fail.

Dislike: The erosion of the middle class and the growing gulf between the "haves" and "have-nots".

Hey Robbie? Are you voting for Scottish independence?

If Scotland become free will the English build Hadrian's wall even higher?

No politics for me johnny, not a Scottish nationalist, I have never voted, ever, in any election, ever. Politics is for politicians. Personally I am a kind of natural socialist, like the native Americans were socialist. Scotland will never be free, new boss is the same as the old boss. As you know there is history between us, but there are many things to admire about our English cousins despite their foibles. 🙂
