Most people understand that English has no word that rhymes with "orange". It's far from the only one, however. There are at least four more.

1. bulb
2. angel
3. silver
4. month

How many more can you find?

Gulp doesn't rhyme with bulb. The vowel gives it assonance, that's all.
'Amongth"?? - You'd struggle to find that word anywhere...
'Hair Gel' is 2 words - doesn't count...
'Pilfer' - OK you just about get that one, but it's also a bit more assonance than rhyme.

It means amid or in the middle of. It's a bit archaic.

Nice word, and is about what's going on here, in more ways than one.

A "p" sound is not the same as a "b" sound.

An "r" sound is not the same as an "n" sound.

An "f" sound is not the same as a "v" sound.

An "ng" sound is not the same as an "n" sound.

rhyme, noun

1. identity in sound of some part, especially the end, of words or lines of verse.
2. a word agreeing with another in terminal sound: Find is a rhyme for mind and womankind.

Yes, English is hard, but one might think that the English might have a better grip of the language that is named after them. But then, one might be wrong.
