My 2 part plan worked.
1) Change to vaping
2) Quit vaping
Roughly $100 better a week.
I still get urges to supply my body with nicotine but hey I smoked 30 years.
I used a quit clinic and from there I could work out the decreasing factors and timeframe similar to quitting with patches or gum.
Edit: the greatest success is not the money but lack of poison that was forming on my tongue whilst on forced schizophrenia meds.

@handyandy saidThanks. I will do.
Congratulations! Stay with it!
I ran a thread about vaping here so wanted to confirm my success in stopping that also. went down to 1 mg and stopped there and gave my vape machine away.

I quit in about 5 min., totally on my own through sheer force of will. Well, plus one hypnosis seminar. It was just time. I was sick of it.
I wasn't on any other medications at the time, though.

Surely you quit in a second or over an indefinite period where one gradually realises that one has defeated the cravings.
@executioner-brand saidWell done! The first few days is the hardest then it’s just a matter of ignoring the vague and decreasing feeling of emptiness for a few weeks.
Thanks. I will do.

I’ve been following the vape stories in the media.

you quit recently too? well done.
I was so sick of it too... where hating it made my willpower strong. Just being honest that it's a liability I don't want. Vaping, however, was key in my method and my success is due to vapes.
@divegeester saidthanks, its about a month or so I've had no vape or cigarette.

For me changing to a vape was about as hard as giving up vaping, which was relatively new to me... about a month.
@divegeester saidThrew my last pack away and I was done.
