This is an ode to Rookie,
and his bag of magic tricks,
his poems that befuddle
and the bikes he couldn't fix.
Every forum needs a Rookie,
to ask about our junk,
I see a lot of sense in him
(but only when I'm drunk).
He never fails to amaze me; such a creative thinker.
And so deserving of your poem 😸
@js357said Many years ago my lady love revealed a fondness for pelicans. We now have >50 depictions of same in the house, including depictions in bronze, a quilt, a casserole, stuffed toys, ceramics, pillows, little salt and pepper bowls from a trip to Provence and a boxful in the garage labeled “spare pelicans”. Recent interest is moving toward octopi. A neighbor of ours has a similar co ...[text shortened]... documentation of the attacks of 9/11/2001 and the following days. Don’t know if the tapes will play.
There are places that will convert your VHS tapes to DVD. They'll last a magnitude longer than tapes.
@ghost-of-a-dukesaid Until around the age of 14 my sister, mum and aunt would always buy me something frog-related as presents. (It became a family joke) so, in essence, my frog collection of well over two hundred frogs was a collection not of my own choosing.
Over the last several years I have started returning the frogs to them on birthdays and Christmas through the post.
starting in about 1976 thru the mid eighties i collected a number of vinyl record albums
approximately 400, i never really counted them
in 84 i changed that a bit, bought dark side of the moon and the white album again, only on cd
in 97 a flooded basement destroyed about 300 or so of my records (insert boohoo face here)
now all that music streams cheaply thru the ether, and my ears hear honey child again
@handyandysaid Call your local health department. Rainwater collected in old tires could be a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
Good suggestion actually I believe the neighbour on the other side of him has already done that, as we were discussing what an eye sore it was he then mentioned he had called about it.
