No. The Schengen agreement states that you can ask ayslum in 1 Schengen country. And if that’s rejected, you can can’t ask for asylum in another Schengen country.

So, these refugees ask for asylum in Europe (one of the Schengen countries), if the request is rejected (which happens on an individual basis and is therefore hard to say anything useful about) then the refugee ...[text shortened]... ntry.

If they’re coming to England via Europe, that’s probably what’s happening, don’t you think?
No. They’re coming to the UK because a) they see the UK as the best place for them to live, and/or b) because they’ve been refused asylum in the EU.

The latter is obviously correct.
The first is a dodgy statement. Why would they come over Europe to get to Britain?

The majority of refugees ask for asylum in the first country they arrive in.

It’s not like fleeing a country is fun or that people smugglers are nice people you want to hang around with.

That's quite a long way to row a boat, innit?
For boats read Chinese made ribs with outboard motors
They tend to be English speaking migrants who don’t like the French and can’t speak French
They are halfway English already

Uh, no.
You can't.

They're requesting asylum in Britain, so Britain has the obligation to house them while they process the request.

And that's why Britain has thought up this marvelous plan to house them in Rwanda.
Like you do...

It’s not illegal immigration if a refugee is requesting asylum. It’s international law.

90% of the problems jn the Middle-East and Africa were created by the West interfering there. One doesn’t presume the answer is in even more interference, eh.
Nonsense. People have a right to apply for asylum, and the receiving country can accept or reject as they see fit. There is no law that can force a country to accept asylum seekers.

100% of the problems in the MidEast and Africa or any part of the world for that matter is caused by stupidity, poor decision making and corruption. The interference by the Western colonial countries if anything helped them to set up themselves.

Maybe if you lived in one of those countries you wont be regurgitating sophomore college rubbish, and lame excuses about why African countries are poor.

I didn’t say a country can’t reject an asylum request.

Agreed.

As soon as that’s permitted then Ireland can send their illegal immigrants back to the UK.

Well they are, in their thousands every week.

That a EU country has opened their boarders, refused them asylum and turns a blind eye to them travelling across more borders is another failure of the EU.

It’s going to lead to bloodshed.

They don’t tend to be English speaking and they aren’t “halfway English”.

Of course they don’t like the French, the French don’t want them, Italy doesn’t want them, the EU doesn’t want them.

But hey “free movement of people” ….

Does anyone know what Keir Starmer’s policy and solutions are on managing illegal immigration?

I’ll wait.

Is that much the same as refugees leaving Britain to go to Ireland, then?

Just because the EU is less corrupt than the UK, does not make it holy.
