The post that was quoted here has been removed“ Wrong. Condoleezza Rice (a Republican) hardly inspires terror among right-wing white Americans.
George W. Bush has said that he would support Condolezza Rice for President.”
Wrong: we are discussing average joes fears as a representative of the Trump party not the old Republican Party of the Bush administration.
You would do better to see the Obama election and the birth of the ‘Tea Party’ as a point of schism between the traditional conservative Republican Party and the new Trump era party.
@kevcvs57 saidI think that is exactly what the ouster of Liz Cheney demonstrates: the GOP today is a different party to the GOP of Reagan, Rumsfeld, Bush, and Dick Cheney. The GOP now has the same name, but a different agenda.

@moonbus saidIt’s quite stark when you think how conservative a Republican Cheney actually is, she is certainly no Rino, ironically that title would be better suited to Trump and his hardline acolytes in the party.

@shavixmir saidWe’ll have to wait until the video of Trump swallowing a live gerbil hits the MSM, I’d like to see McCarthy try to spin that one.
Damned lizard people! They’re the real aliens and the republicants just don’t see it!

@kevcvs57 saidCheney is a real conservative, as are Ben Sasse and Mit Romney, for example; they have political training and a political agenda (whether or not you agree with it). Trump has neither political training nor a political agenda. None. The presidency was never anything more for him than the escalation of his reality tv persona, self-profiling. "I'm the hoochie coochie man, everybody knows I'm here." The GOP has cravenly subordinated itself to a demagogue, in the misguided belief that, riding on his coattails, they could stay in power. We have seen where that leads: loss of the House, the Senate, and the WH, over a period of four years. Future historians, and future conservatives (whatever party name they choose for themselves), will look back on this time as a watershed in American history.

@moonbus saidI don’t generally agree with the Republican agenda, as a non American it really shouldn’t bother me, but as a citizen of the world and the west in particular I’m almost nostalgic for the old Republican Party along with the old mainly consensus governed USA.

Everywhere I look including the UK there seems to be a near 50:50 split between two very divergent world views.

@kevcvs57 said"When America sneezes, the world gets a cold." Right now, America has COVID, so it does matter to the rest of the world what goes on there. The two-party system in America is broken. I predict that the GOP will split.

@averagejoe1 saidThat was such a racist thing to say calling Susan Rice a shadow president. Throwing shade at her just cause she's black. I'm surprised Duckie hasn't picked you up on it yet.
This was said this morning by our National Security Director....Ric Grennell.. I have been saying this for months.
You fellers best gird your loins, there Are about to be some small bombs and then a pretty large bomb.

@averagejoe1 saidHarris served as senator from California from 2017 to 2021, and as the attorney general of California from 2011 to 2017. That's ten years of experience in government. She knows how government works better than Trump ever did or ever will. That has nothing to do with whether you agree with her agenda. MTG, on the other hand, has no experience of government; a freshman with no clue about protocol or decorum in the House.
Are u referrin ro when Joe referred to her as President Harris? All weve said is she will be staready when he keels over from “too many questions “
