@metal-brain saidNo, I have the name of a study but no access to the study itself.
You have the study. Stop crying.
Have you read it? Do you have a membership to “Cochrane Library”?
@athousandyoung saidThat came up in the other thread as well. I provided another link for the same study. You can find it here:

After a little digging I find this disclaimer:
https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04337541
The safety and scientific validity of this study is the responsibility of the study sponsor and investigators. Listing a study does not mean it has been evaluated by the U.S. Federal Government. Read our disclaimer for details.
In other words it’s not peer reviewed. Completely unreliable even if we had access to the conclusions.
@metal-brain saidIf it came up already you should not be making the same mistake again. And again I’m not going to search your posting history. Give the link here.

@athousandyoung saidThe U.S. Federal Government is considered a peer?

CONCLUSIONS
We will study whether a face mask protects the wearer of the mask against SARS-CoV-2 infection. The findings are expected to apply to the present pandemic and to future viral outbreaks and to provide evidence for authority recommendations across the world.
The study has no conclusion. According to the study it hasn’t even been finished! ”We will study…
That’s future tense!
@metal-brain saidThat’s a different article MB…I’m trying to engage with you in discussion but you make it so hard. You seem scientifically illiterate.

Is this really the conclusion you’re going with to support your argument?!
The use of closed face shields and surgical face masks was non-inferior to the surgical face mask alone in the prevention of SARS-CoV-2 infection in highly exposed groups. Settings with highly active viral transmission and conditions such as poor ventilation, crowding, and high mobility due to occupation may benefit from the combined use of masks and closed face shields to mitigate SARS-CoV-2 transmission.
I think it’s pretty obvious that a face mask and face shield combined are not inferior to face mask alone. So what?

From MB’s referenced study:
https://www2.ugeskriftet.dk/dmj/face-masks-prevention-covid-19-rationale-and-design-randomised-controlled-trial-danmask-19
Surgical face masks may therefore be effective against COVID-19 transmission [17-19]. Thus, face masks can probably protect against virus infection by reducing the risk that virus enters the mouth or nose via respiratory droplets or aerosols. Additionally, it is likely that face masks may reduce the risk of transmission by reducing face-touching with virus-contaminated fingers and hands.
Your reference study does not agree with your conclusions MB.
