@kazetnagorra saidPlease tell me that’s true!
As expected, Trump confirmed the allegation by announcing sanctions against the previous leader of Iran, who died in 1989.

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump imposed new sanctions Monday on Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and others within his inner circle.
However, when announcing the sanctions, Trump referred to the wrong ayatollah.
Seriously. How can life be funnier than this?

@patzering saidThat makes a lot of sense. I think I will opt for having my next dental check-up performed by a rabid dog on crack, that might shake things up a little.
That's why people like him.
He makes politics fun and interesting.
The career politicians over the last 50 years have been boring.
Has anything really changed from one president to the next?
No, not really.
Trump is fun.

@kazetnagorra saidHow does politics have anything to do with your choice of dentist?

Do you always deal in absolutes?
So because people like a fun and entertaining president it must apply TO ALL aspects of life?
You haven't even lived in the states I'm sure.

@patzering saidI used a rhetorical device called an "analogy." Let me slowly explain. In matters of life and death, as opposed to reality TV, it is generally preferable to have someone in charge who knows what they are doing. Sure, I can laugh about Trump, and the Trump administration's ludicrous antics and mismanagement hurt me much less than they hurt Americans, but at the end of the day it would be better for everyone to have someone at least moderately competent at the helm. Likewise, I would much prefer a boring dentist with no sense of humour who knows what they are doing.

I lived in the states for president Bush...and Obama...and Trump.
Nothing changed.
A president is a figurehead and has little effect on changes. That may sound extreme but I was there (in the south) for 3 very different presidents and it was always the same.
You're putting too much weight on a figurehead.

I realize Donald Trump is not single-handedly running the country (fortunately). That's not a very good reason to purposely choose the worst option to wield the influence that a president does wield.
