Depends whether you meant the man or his music. Assuming the latter, then most people of my age in the UK are likely to like at least some of his music.

Quick trivia questions (no Googling):

1) What was Elton John's first UK No 1 single?

2) What was Elton John's first UK solo No 1 single?

I like his more serious music, but dislike his bubblegum songs. he has to be admired for being such a hit making machine for so many years and quite the tunesmith.

I like a lot of stuff you don't like.

Elton John is one.

My favorite is Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (the song, although the album is good too), followed by (in no order) Tiny Dancer, Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting, and Philadelphia Freedom (I was born in Philly).

You do realize most of his songs are collaborations with his long time partner Bernie Taupin? Between the two, they are worth over a half billion dollars.

I was referring to the without-vocal-track karaoke versions of those albums.

no, but then i have a weird dislike of most piano playing singers, tori amos is the only one of the top of my head that i have time for, still not a huge fan though. its okay to have a piano/keyboard in the band, but push em'back and to the side of the stage, almost off it.

Ben Folds Five was a fun piano-driven trio.

KiKi-Dee is correct. 'Don't go breaking my heart'

Anyone willing to guess the other? It was 14 years later and an amazing 20 years into his career.

This is one of my favourite music trivia questions along with 'What classic song kept Ultravox's Vienna off the UK No 1 spot?'

because of my irrational condition i never gave ben folds a chance, decided i didnt like him before he tinkled on his ivories. my kids started watching a film called 'over the hedge' over and over for a few months and it had a few catchy fun songs that i quite liked......turned out to be ben folds, damn it!!

The correct answer is Sacrifice.
