I'm talking about the new Barbie film.

I found it entertaining.

What did you think of the cultural references re America?

For me, I hope it encourages discussions among the younger generations on materialistic aims and acceptance of patriarchal ideology.

I plan on watching this, just haven't set aside time for it yet.

What I do know is that the movie is anti-woke, unlike what conservative commentators like Ben Shapir0 have falsely stated. I think that's an interesting direction given that Barbie has taken a lot of flack for reinforcing tradition gender norms. You'd think they'd go the opposite direction but they actually lean into transitional roles.

If I see this movie I'll be be back to this thread.
