Consequences are the result of things, not the cause of things.
Thus blaming a 'lack of consequences' for causing anything is nonsensical.

I was talking about proper discipline so the child continually
learns correct behavior that would keep him safe instead of
running after a ball into the street and getting hit by a car or
some other dumb action that he might do because of lack of
proper discipline.

The latter seems a double negative. It means many people knew John 3:16.
Am I right ?
