Greetings,

Here is some good stuff about DNA supporting evolution.

http://evolution.llil.org/Pseudogenes---Apes-and-Humans.htm

Evidently patterns in the DNA of men and apes show a shared past history.
Sort of like how they can trace the history of Bible manuscripts via shared
copyist errors - shared DNA duplication errors trace an evolutionary past.

indeed, Ive read read that chimps and humans have only two strands of dna between them.
So, are these 2 strands just some more "junk dna" or are they some special factor that distinguishes us, rather dramatically, from our ancestral cousins?

ps.do you want a game? I've lost more than I've won so you have a better than a 50/50 chance of beating meπŸ™‚

Hi karoly

I think you are mis-informed about the 2 strands.
Scientists say there is much shared DNA-over 98 %
in chimps and humans

That could mean God just used the same building blocks
in chimps and humans.

What is troublesome is that we share the same "copyist
errors" to use a Bible manuscript analogy.

As far as a game - I am just learning and am into the books,
watching how others play, and trying to learn some before I
play. I play my computer and am probably about a 1200
but it is too discouraging to play so poorly - I really could
loose interest and I want my chess hobby to last a long time.

I am starting in my fifties and really wonder if there is some
sort of brain thing that hinders learning at my age - I really
cannot see what the positions call for. I have Silman's
book How to Reassess Your Chess on order which I hope
has good instruction to see what is going on on the chess board.

Have a good day

2 strands...silly me. I meant to say 2% difference between us and chimps. Does that sound better?

As for chess, my god man, at fifty you should be diving in...
I , myself, am a gambler at chess.
My first strategy for winning is timeouts. Next comes chatting. Chess theory is third...
C'mon and give me a challenge, you can be white πŸ™‚

But yes, same building blocks. Amazing you can make a brick or a human out of exactly the same stuff!!

Pigs!

Humans and Pigs share more similiarities than Humans and Apes.

Still never been explained why the Ape left the comparitive safety of the
jungle where it had everything it needed to start wandering the planet.

Then we told a few years later they lose all their body hair and start killing each other.

This is just as much tosh as the talking snake and speaking bush stories
you find in the bible.

Are you trying to telling me that an Aborigine and a blonde haired blue-eyed
Scandinavian came from the same ape. Get wise.

No doubt about it. Earth was used as a penal planet and we are descended
from the evil criminals minds of another race. (who evolved from pigs).

That explains everthing.

No God, No Evolution, we are the outcasts of the Universe. Space Scum.

Earth is the real Hell.

We have all done something wrong on our home planets
and have been sentenced to 'life.'

That is why we are born screaming and shouting.
