I came across a neat little book in the Penguin Great Ideas series--Revelation and the Book of Job in one small handy volume...perfect for the office lavatory...Anyway, I have a new appreciation for St John the Divine, his style..."JC, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead"...Such phrases linger in the mind! Any idea what it means?
