Do you think most of your posts are strife filled?

Proverbs 20:3
It is to one’s honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel.

Proverbs 22:10
Drive out the mocker, and out goes strife; quarrels and insults are ended.

🙂 My example of the racist old chap, and post removal, was not in direct response to anything 'you' said. I was just responding to Proverbs 22:10 and arguing that the 'mocker' was not necessarily a bad thing and that mockery itself was sometimes a good tool to confront bigotry etc.

Oh? So when you talked about "here" and "posts" in your OP, you weren't referring to threads here on this forum where people post, you were thinking of the "TV news"?

A more accurate translation is,

Drive away the scornful man,
And contention will disappear;
Disputes and insults will cease.

- New world translation of the Holy scriptures.

Even sarcasm can be used without strife and even heated disagreements are not bad things, but my question was if we felt like that was a large part of our discussions. When I thought of asking this it had more to do with TV news than it did our threads, yet looked how this has evolved, gheesh
At the risk of being pedantic myself, you actually said "your" posts not "us" or "our" posts.

Using Biblical scripture to call people you don't approve of "mockers" and "fools" is poor form from a Christian in my opinion. As I said, if you have something to say just come out and say it.

Alternatively just pick a bunch of people you don't like and ignore every post they put to you - which is what you do to FMF, twhitehead, myself and probably others.

I think those passages are more concern with those that live to create or stir up strife than
not, to avoid such things is a good goal.

But haven't you claimed that you intended this thread to be about "TV news"?

Probably best not to start threads about it then.

Were you seeking to to create or stir up strife by posting an OP that talks about fools, mockers, and insults with reference to what goes on "here"?

Isn't this OP similar in nature to josephw accusing certain unnamed non-specified people here of not being Christian because they don't believe certain unnamed non-specific fundamentals about God?

I think pride plays a large role...

Prov 28:25

25 He who is of a proud heart stirs up strife,
But he who trusts in the Lord will be prospered.
NKJV

Prov 13:10
By pride comes nothing but strife,
But with the well-advised is wisdom.

Can't just anyone cite Proverbs 20:3, Proverbs 22:10, Proverbs 28:25, and Proverbs 13:10 and brandish them against anyone else in the midst of a disagreement? It doesn't amount to much in the way of debate. It just seems like a kind of pompous fuel for further strife. Surely this is a tawdry use of what is supposed to be 'holy' scripture?

Are you prepared to provide and example of some posts or even some posters whose pride you think generates strife and who should be driven out of here?
