I read it, if you are talking about the opening statement of this thread.
My offer to be your opponent is not open forever. You seem to want to wait and pick your opponent and your judges.
I don't need a formal debate judged by people you like in order to analyze the validity of your "Jesus the Socialist" argument. Probably, after tonight if no decision, I will assume that you want to debate someone else.
No problem with that. I'll check the board latter tonight. Tomorrow my offer is withdrawn.
I can discuss the proposal without a formal debate but in a discussion style if someone is interested in my thoughts on it.

Haven't you read "Behold I am with you always, even unto the consummation of the age."?
Our enjoyment of Jesus' presence is so rich that when He does return physically it will only be a deepening and a continuation of what we have been enjoying for all these rich years.
Besides we disciples need time to be more and more conformed to His image.
But when Jesus does return physically, most people will think that it is too soon rather than too late.

I don't think that one could make a winning case though that Jesus is a Socialist.
I anticipate that some interesting points though, could be surfaced. I have studied every part of the New Testament with an electron microscope for a long time.
It certainly doesn't shock me that someone would attempt to make Jesus into a Socialist. Liberation Theology of the 70s attempted to do it pretty much.
Reactionary theologians disgusted capitalist Americanity emphasized those aspects of the early church life which were communistic.

Alright, this topic has evidently failed to spark any wider interest. For better or for worse it looks like its between Jaywill and Whodey. You may decide amongst yourselves who will be my opponent. Once that is done then we can get down to the business of selecting the judges. I will caution you both that this is a debate and not an evangelizing mission. I would hope that you would address the arguments I intend to raise and refrain from unconnected proselytizing. You've already been given a few hints as to the type of arguments I'll be making. Much of it will depend on non-biblical sources. So I hope you use the time available to do the appropriate research and that you refrain from completely wasting my time and effort.
