We can carry this metaphor a little further. The question is whether one looks at one's rating as the guide to one's playing of the game (assuming the rating determines the ultimate home). Instead, one can say, am I getting sufficient reward from playing well and fairly, learning from my errors, with kindness toward myself and my fellow players? If so, I will let the ultimate reward take care of itself.

Only little catch is that we're not only social but also spiritual creatures. Life choices on planet earth determine our future pleasure and happiness, or our eternal suffering and unceasing pain. RHP Spirituality Forum activity far exceeds all other forums.

Because they haven't reached the age of arrogance, the age of self-aggrandizement, or the age of self-worship. They are still free of Satan and they still belong to God. If only we could all remember this time of our lives.
