Is it immoral and why/why not.

Personally I think it is a perfectly sound way to live.

The only moral issues surrounding sex, to my way of thinking, are whether there is consent - informed consent - whether there is deception or false pretenses - whether there is coercion (such as emotional blackmail or where a partner's weaknesses or vulnerabilities are exploited) - whether diseases are willfully or knowingly or negligently passed on - and whether responsibility is taken for any consequences of the sexual relationship. If I think of anything else I will add it later; same goes if anyone else thinks of something I omitted or suggests something I haven't thought of before.

Do you encourage you daughters to indulge in this perfectly sound philosophy? From what age did you feel it appropriate for them to be promiscuous?

Is it a less sound philosophy for women than men?

I haven't said it is sound or unsound. you could, like me, ask wolfgang59.

If done safely, responsibly and legally, then go for it. (Personally speaking, marriage or a committed relationship is a game changer to promiscuity).

You have hinted that he would have a problem with his daughters using the philosophy but not his sons.

I agree. The immorality is not the sex but breaking any commitments we might have made to someone else and the fact that breaking said commitments can bring a lot of pain to them.

I think any activity affecting others is, by default, morally sound - or at least morally neutral - until it can be seen, felt, or shown that it involves some degree of immorality.

I've created a scenario in order to discuss the premise that promiscuity is a sound philosophy. The scenario I've chosen is a father's daughters. If you don't think fathers are more sensitive and protective over their daughters sexual habits than they are over their sons sexual habits that is only of interest if Wolfgang59 agrees with you and struggles with the scenario I put to him and in which case we can modify the scenario so that he can imagine his sons being promiscuous or perhaps generalise the whole thing to his children being promiscuous.

How, and importantly, why was marriage a "game changer" for you personally, in terms of your promiscuity?

There probably/possibly two aspects to this discussion; morality and social practicality/benefit.

To be clear, I see absolutely no 'moral' difference between males and females when it comes to promiscuity.

And what is you opinion on the morality of promiscuity?
