Matthew 6:9-13
Good News Translation (GNT)
9 This, then, is how you should pray:
‘Our Father in heaven:
May your holy name be honored;
10 may your Kingdom come;
may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today the food we need.[a]
12 Forgive us the wrongs we have done,
as we forgive the wrongs that others have done to us.
13 Do not bring us to hard testing,
but keep us safe from the Evil One.
Many pray for God's Kingdom, but what is this Kingdom and what will it do for all who want it? Should we put our faith in it or mans kingdoms?

"As disciples of Christ, we need to learn to forgive others. Why? Unlike Jesus, we are imperfect—as are those who may sin against us. From time to time, we all stumble in word and in deed. Notice a few points here. First we have examples of ones in the Bible that did forgive ones who may have deeply sinned. But as these examples show it is possible and is actually required of us to do that.
But do we forgive and overlook all sins? Notice again we are too if the one who has sinned against us is repentant and sincere. If they are not and continue with that sinful action, the bible tells us what to do in that case.

out of interest how does the christian rule of forgiveness work with crime and punishment. in an idealistic christian society would criminals be let out of prison early if they were truly sorry for what they had done?
