Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man -- living in the sky -- who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do.. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time! ..But He loves you and needs money.....🙄

You would like to believe that, you hope it, but you can't prove it and you don't know it for a fact!

One of my favorite of his.

Typing it doesn't do it justice. The delivery is awesome:

667Joe,
God doesn't need money. We humans are the ones who need money to naturally function in this world. God uses humans, and God makes use of money in our world.

I guess the Catholic Church should be functioning very well!

I think this prayer is funny too.

"This is a little prayer dedicated to the separation of church and state. I guess if they are going to force those kids to pray in schools they might as well have a nice prayer like this: Our Father who art in heaven, and to the republic for which it stands, thy kingdom come, one nation indivisible as in heaven, give us this day as we forgive those who so proudly we hail. Crown thy good into temptation but deliver us from the twilight's last gleaming. Amen and Awomen." [George Carlin, on Saturday Night Live]

Well, no; you can not need something, and yet use it if you've got it. That doesn't mean there were not other means to reach the same end.

You mean like just coming down and clearly saying why there are children with cancer and down's syndrome and Hansen's disease and such? Or why it would have put out a tale like it destroyed all land animals on Earth to get to a few thousand errant humans and left the survivors with an extremely poor genetic diversity pool.

Let it come down and answer THOSE questions.

It would probably just ask us why we're taking those stories so literally. I doubt ancient people did. Seems it's the modern people who make that mistake.

I heard one theologian say to Richard Dawkins, or Richie himself, not sure now, but that taking the bible literally, 6 literal days, etc., is a relatively new thing, mid 19th century or so.
