Where did you get the idea that I had the idea that matter ceases to exist?

I said that man, unlike other matter has an eternal soul. In other words other matter does not have a soul.

You so easily limit God to to being only the God of Man. How would you possibly know that , Christ didnt limit the Spirit to man , so you shouldn't either.

When did I limit God to being the only god of man?

Man has many gods, including himself.

Are you saying that an animal has a soul?

Ah. The feminist view has been sorely missed here. Do women matter?
Women matter greatly.
Men don't matter.
Women can survive without men. (We are stocking up on sperm and perfecting the science of cloning as I speak)
Men cannot survive without women.
Women rule the world.

Women are perfecting the science of cloning? A man named Ian cloned Dolly. Hwang Woo-Seok is a man.

How long do you think your stock of sperm will last?

Women don't rule jack. Get back to the kitchen! 😵

You're feeble man brain could not grasp the depth and extent of our underground. Ah yes the kitchen, where women have been slowly but surely poisoning off the male race for hundreds of years. My favorite place to be.

I guess it only matters if there is a reason for matter to matter.
Otherwise it is all vanity, for dust we shall be when it is all said and
done.

this may very well be the reality. i'm not sure that i would call it all vanity, however.

Why not call it vanity if once we die we are gone and all that matters
turns to dust? You build up your wealth, you must surrender it all to
others, who will do with it as they see fit. You educate yourself, your
knowledge goes to nothing after you die. Another generation may
come, then another, you become forgotten, if man dies off all we
did die with us. The strong the weak, the fast the slow, the smart
and dumb it is all meaningless vanity. Unless there is a reason
for matter to matter it is vanity.

why not just call it life followed by a permanent end to consciousness?

at any rate, i think i see what you are saying, as vistesd's following post expounds upon it. perhaps it is 'vanity'.
