Isn't it funny that Chrsitianity today has become a complete and utter reversal from what it once was? If JC could see what had become of his followers today he would crucify HIMSELF!

Christianity used to be the sacrifice of onesself for the benefit of all mankind. That is what Christ himself wanted to show us through his crucifixion. He used to encourage us to take only what money and material posessions we needed to survive, and share the rest with others who were more needy. He taught that we should not judge, persecute or retalliate to anyone, but to be nothing but loving and caring and accepting of all. He said we should be tolerant of all people, no matter how different they might be from ourselves.
But if you loo at Christianity today, how more different could it possibly be?! Unfortunately, most Christians today horde their wealth, just like most non-Christians, they would not share anything they own with strangers if their life depended on it. Some of the most judgemental, rude, and discriminating people I've ever met have been Christians, who consider themselves morally superior to non-Christians and who think they can tell others what is 'right' and 'wrong'. Over the last 2000 years Christians have become the masters of persecution, KILLING those who don't agree with their beliefs in many instances. Look at the Pope, the head of the Catholic Church, who lives in splendour and luxury while Jesus was never anything more than a simple carpenter! The list of contradictions never ends.

Not sure if that's supposed to be weeping, laughter or the sound of a ghost running through the halls.

Your rosie view of what christainity was I think is incorrect. What your talking about is the ideology/philosophy which underpins a dream life in Christainity. What proof do you have that most early christains lived such a life ?

edit:- Perhaps you could also expaned your explaination of Jesus living a simple carpenters life ?

Yesterday the Pope was seen running around with a Kalashnikov on St. Peter's square ....

Yes all Christians are to follow THE WORD OF GOD, to the fullest. yes there have pretend to be christians through out the ages. Those of whom that given CHRIST a beating again and again. There have been Christians that have tried to crucify over and over.
THE WORDS OF CHRIST, stand true today. Most Christians today follow the teachings of CHRIST. Most Christians know that only way to GOD is only through CHRIST.
What you are saying does have some truth in it. The forces of evil(satan) has invaded Christianity, there is no doubt. But there are many of the Christian Faith that hold true to the faith of, THE WORD OF GOD. Everyone that professes to be a Christian is not. If you follow and believe THE WORD OF GOD, you can tell who is and who is not.
The Pope is not head of the faith in JESUS CHRIST. Nor is He the head of the Christian Church. He is only head of the Catholic church. Which is totally different. Yes through the Catholic Church there have been perscecution of the rest of the world and fellow Christians. Yes the the Pope and the rest of the Catholic church is guilty.
But you can not but the blame on THE WORD OF GOD. Or the followers of THE WORD OF GOD.
All of the Ministry of JESUS CHRIST, does not live in splendour and Luxury. Not all the Ministry of CHRIST have large Church buildings and bank accounts. Not to say the Christian church as a whole does have a lot of repenting to do. And we better repent before the return of JESUS CHRIST, when our sins will be held against us.

Have you read the Bible?
Anyway, it doesn't matter whether or not EVERYONE followed those beliefs 2000 years ago. The fact of the matter is, that's what the core values of Christianity are, and they have been reversed into a perversion of religion, which is what Christianity is today.

Im not denying that there are many Christians out there who do still hold true to the correct system of morals and values. I know many of them personally. All I'm saying is that they are sadly outnumbered by those who have perverted the religion into a mess of contradictions and evilness.

The Pope is not mentioned in THE WORD OF GOD. THE WORD OF GOD, means the same today as it did 2000 years ago. The values of Christianity is only preverted by make-believe Christians. The values of true Christians are true to THE WORD OF GOD.
