"Heaven and Hell: A History of the Afterlife."
I enjoyed his previous book "The Triumph of Christianity".
This appears to provide food for thought for those Christians who firmly believe that those who are not "saved", and who are "damned" instead, will face 'torment in burning flames for eternity'.
