How dishonest. As you've already pointed out: neither are cigarettes. Your arguments rests on whether or not alcohol "defiles" the body.

You don't believe the opinions here?:
The list of health risks mentioned above is by no means exhaustive. In 2004 an article in Nature magazine pointed out that “even small amounts of alcohol increase the risk of injury and boost the chances of developing about 60 diseases.”

That's interesting considering the source:
http://www.watchtower.org/e/20051008/article_02.htm

Evidently you don't agree with EVERYTHING the Watchtower says.
The Watchtower cites where "even small amounts of alcohol" defile the body.

We do not allow other recreational drugs, i have sidestepped no issues.

How dishonest. Until now, you've side-stepped the issue of recreational drugs. Even now, you're side-stepping the question of why JWs don't allow other recreational drugs. You've also side-stepped the issue of life being "sacred" to you. You've also declined to state the source of your article.

umm actually cigarettes are prohibited for as i mentioned there are a number of Biblical principles that come in to play, but it would take a discerning mind to reason on them, of which to be perfectly honest, i doubt you could.

Secondly i am not dishonest and i resent your defamation of character, which is nothing more than slander. The watchtower is talking of the abuse of alcohol, you did notice that did you not? or perhaps you like to misrepresent the actual truth of the matter? who can say.

However due to your slanderous remarks, ill informed opinions and baseless accusations, i have nothing more to say to you, have a good day. If you are genuinely interested you may find our core beliefs at our official website www.watchtower.org for i have a zillion better things to do that get involved in a fruitless debate with you, i hope you understand. You may of course have recourse to the obligatory, liar, dishonest, false prophet, you know the usual, as i stated i have better things to do.

The watchtower is talking of the abuse of alcohol. You may wish to find an English translation and it would become obvious.

Yet more dishonesty. The article I cited IS in English. While the Watchtower article was on abuse of alcohol on the whole, it doesn't change the fact that it clearly states the following:
The list of health risks mentioned above is by no means exhaustive. In 2004 an article in Nature magazine pointed out that “even small amounts of alcohol increase the risk of injury and boost the chances of developing about 60 diseases.”

So your argument about alcohol not defiling the body falls to this. Clearly "even small amounts" defile the body. Your throwing a hissy fit rather than acknowledge this is yet another dishonest tactic.

Secondly i am not dishonest and i resent your defamation of character, which is nothing more than slander.
You can go into your usual song and dance about "slander", but it does nothing to change the facts. Your calling it "slander" is dishonest in and of itself. I've already documented your dishonesty here and other places many times over. For example on the "Truth .. JW Style" thread you tell a blatant lie as I show on Page 40.

i am not throwing a fit or anything of the sort, if you want to genuinely discuss a persons beliefs you do not begin by calling them a liar, you are what is known in the trade as a 'time waster', let is serve as a lesson to you.

I didn't "begin by calling [you] a liar". Your lying is what earned you that. Your continual use of dishonest tactics earn you the recognition of being a dishonest person. If you were a person of truth or represented an organization of truth, you wouldn't resort to such tactics. But you aren't a person of truth, nor do you represent an organization of truth. You are what you are. You don't even have the moral character to admit it.

In the case of alcohol, its use is not prohibited in scripture, in the case of smoking tobacco, clearly it is a defilement of flesh and thus prohibited, not only that, it harms other persons as well through second hand inhalation, one can hardly be loving ones neighbour as themselves while harming them at the same time. What this has to do with an atheist state i really do not know.
It was an example.
BTW an " athiest state" is what? I thought governments were better if they gave greater tolerance and freedom to the peoples. I dont think it has anything to do with god.

Well thanks for fleshing that out for me ToO. And thanks for the links. No more compliments less Robbie call me an ass kisser.
Alas I shall not become a JW. I smoke. Only about 4 or 5 a day, but even that is not worth giving up for what the JWs are offering.

i suppose an Atheistic state must be a state where Atheism is the default position, as in Albania prior to the fall of communism.

The Socialist People's Republic of Albania under Enver Hoxha went so far as to officially ban the practice of every religion.

Done and done!! There will be English tears filling our goblets before the summer is out!
We will rejoice and the poms will go back home scratching their heads.
In fact I will even attend the first test in Brisbane come November, and the aussies always win when I attend๐Ÿ˜

ah how reassuring, there is nothing sweeter than the sound of an Aussie ball on an English wicket, may the force be with you!
