Because he is really good looking? Nope, that's not it.

Because he will single handedly save the world from global warming? Nope, that's can't be it either.

Because he is a really good idolator?

Ding, ding, ding, I think I found the answer!! 😛

There are no Republicans in British politics. You must mean conservative.

Lol, yeah, hes quite a humble dude i think, simple guy, just wants to go fishing all the
time. He wrote a children book which i remember reading, was not great, but
passable, also has done some interesting watercolours which he is quite self-effacing
about. I agree, the best of a bad bunch!

I love brussels sprouts, boiled in salted water, drained, gently turned in butter with a
dash of freshly ground black pepper. I bet prince Charles does too.

I would even like that and I am not a vegetarian.

Republicans are the opposite of Monarchists when it comes to debating who should be the head of state.

I am a Republican and I don't debate such things.

Well clearly your U.S. party affiliation is not what is being referred to with this use of the word. A republican is someone who wants the head of state to be an elected president rather than a monarch. I am a republican in this sense.
