1. Why do you presume to know what I think?
I don't know whether or not you have a good answer - but the more
you avoid the question - the less likely it seems that you do.

2. You would lose your bet.
In a nutshell: I don't believe Harry Potter is real.

Adam and Eve.

The Flood.

The crucifixion.

What criteria did you use to decide none of the Bibles are right? Sorry but comparing the Bible to the Harry Potter series is rather ignorant on your part.

Most people can agree on these. How do they change the message of the Bible?

Not seeing the parallel between the Bible and Harry Potter is rather ignorant on your part.

You asked for examples where it matters if the bible is literal or not.
Does it not matter to you if those stories are true or allegorical?

And your feeble attempt at a strawman is rather lame. Harry Potter isn't true therefore the Bible isn't truel? 🙄

Both are books.
One is boring fantasy.
The other is a jolly good read.

The Bible has more than 60 authors from different parts of the world written over many centuries which contains a unified story of God's plan of salvation with truth that has changed millions of lives. If you can't see the divine hand of God in it it's because you choose to ignore it.

I haven't ignored the Bible, but judging from your posts you have.
You seem to know nothing of its origins or its evolution into the
many Bibles in use today.

I would assume you don't know much about Christianity either.
(Were you the dumbass who thought "Immaculate Conception"
related to Jesus?)

Why don't you stop beating about the bush and tell me why you think it matters.

Your thread which you cannot answer the most straight forward questions on.

As I said - you really don't have a clue do you?

Conversely, you believe that:

1. Life came about by accident, something that can't even be duplicated by intelligent beings

2. You think there was no flood when every ancient culture in that region has a flood myth. To even know what a flood is one would have to have a point of reference, so yea, there was a flood.

3. Jesus was crucified. Most historians have no issue with this.

4. Feeding of the 5000? Jesus fed them all with a few fish and pieces of bread according to the Bible. You laugh at this, but according to Dims, Obama was going to give health insurance to 30 million more people while lowering premiums and providing the same level of health care and letting us all keep our own doctors and coverage. To you, that was believable?

You don't think it matters whether or not Adam and Eve are to be taken literally?!

You don't see how this will impact on such concepts as original sin?
