Creationists say, show us the missing link. Here is one of the most fundamental links of all.

Notice that this new group of microbes is referred to as "Loki", an evil trickster and enemy of god(s).

'Tis the work of the work of the devil!!!!

Good luck on that one, because sonhouse can't think for himself. 😏

I thought he/they did. Did you follow the link? Did you read the article? Did you need a dictionary?

Well, if it is so simple to you, certainly you would not mind putting it in simple English words so Dasa and the rest of us common people can understand too.
The following quote from the end of the article seems to be an admission that they really don't know much yet and are only speculating:
By exploring microbial dark matter with new genomics techniques, Thijs Ettema and his team hope to find more clues about how complex cells evolved.

"In a way, we are just getting started. There is still a lot out there to discover, and I am convinced that we will be forced to revise our biology textbooks more often in the near future", says Thijs Ettema.

Are the single cell creatures really all that simple?

Archaea and bacteria are not without complexity by any means. Some scientists have made careers specialising in studying them. What they're saying is that, relatively speaking archaea are much simpler types of cells than eukaryotes, and that lokiarchaeota represents a genetic link between the two that will help us understand how the more complex eukaryotic cells could have evolved from simpler microbes. It's yet another increase in our understanding of the evolution of biological life. With every such discovery, the gaps that you creationists keep complaining about gets smaller and smaller. It's already a wee bit embarrassing for you, actually.

Highly complex cells evolved from much simpler cells. The question was always how. Genetic analysis suggest that lokiarchaeota represents a link between the simpler and more complex cells, so we can now begin to answer that question from evidence.

Maybe they are making a wrong assumption. What if they did not evolve at all, but were made just like trees, birds, lizards, cows, fish, and other plants and animals? Perhaps they were made like wagons, bicycles, motorcycles, automobiles, and airplanes.

You think a god created life using an assembly line? Well, now I've heard it all. 😵

There are very few fundamental bacterial types from that far in the past. This discovery links two of the most fundamental trees of life that was totally unknown before. Now we can trace the evolution of just about every life form on the planet, at least the ones we have found in nature. (There are MANY life forms yet to be discovered but this discovery links two ancient branches of the tree of life that simplifies the evolutionary links to ourselves and the rest of modern life forms).

As everyone can see, C Hess and sonhouse are being dishonest. Do you agree they are being dishonest, Dasa?

If 'everyone' can see that, why are you reaching out to Dasa?

I don't think either you or Dasa are dishonest.

Off your trolleys, certainly.
