That is a very interesting topic. Seriously.

The leap, as I understand it from the Bible, is God wanted fellowship, and creativity and creating are parts of His nature. In other words, maybe He was bored and lonely.

To elaborate on this, obviously eternal life would be required for God to maintain fellowship with an individual as God is eternal.

If God just wanted companionship or company, eternal life for humans wouldn’t be necessary.

Perhaps both beliefs stem from a fear of the unknown?

Strange how all civilisations have a Creation myth and all have their
"life after death" stories too. (Someone no doubt will correct me on that!)
