I think creating a concentrated place for crap threads would clear some space in the general forum and welcome posters back who have gotten tired of the schmucks nonsenesicle garbage.

So whats the significant difference between this thread and the one lower down that says '"Grampy Bobby Forum" ?

Nothing ? Then you have started a crap thread to complain about another person's 'crap' thread ?

Nice going.

Grampy Bobby's threads may bore you and you might find them totally lame. However, if you examine the entire balance of all of his threads, I think that you'll find that he's started some of the most engaging and entertaining threads of any.

Further, you aren't commenting on the idiotic threads created by so many others, just his (in your opinion).

The question really is, have GB's forum threads actually chased members away from the forums? Or, better yet, have they chased away more members than they've attracted and entertained?

I don't think these questions are answerable, but the response counts to his forum threads are objectively measurable.

I have one other approach to the forums that I might recommend. When I see a forum thread that was started by someone that i consider to be a spammer, I do something real powerful. I choose not to read it.

Why? Should one user have 10 new pointless threads per page in general? Is there a problem with not enjoying someone dominating the forum with pointless 3 or 2 line threads that just invite ill will?

If you don't like something, you should be able to say so. His threads push other threads off page one. Search a page for "grampy bobby" and it often comes up 10 or more times. Who wants to weed through that.

Sports forum was made so people who enjoy all the sports threads had a place to go. Same goes for Spirituality and Debates. If Gramps wants to post so much, there should be a place for the people who actually want to participate.

That's my opinion, and I or anyone else should be welcome to express it.

Why don't you give us a list of all the threads that are not "pointless threads" ! Then it will give us a good idea of threads that are acceptable.

Personally, I enjoy Grampy Bobbys threads. It sure beats the drivel that dominated the General Forum, especially before he came along. Yes, I include my own posts in that bunch of useless drivel, that was as a rule responding to other useless drivel.

***Perhaps a solution to this would be to indicate in the TOS, what is an acceptable amount of threads to be made in one forum per day?***
There are lots of posters I am sure who are not everyones cup of tea, myself included I am sure. I still believe everyone is entitled to post, providing it is not disgusting, pornographic, etc., and not all posters, including myself are going to like what is posted, but we have to put up with it also.

Why not give him his own forum? Why not start his own clan and post his voluminous posts there. I find most of his threads terrible, and I don't like the things I'm interested in displaced. Phlabs is right its a hassle to sort through looking for threads without gb in them. I don't have a problem with how much he posts until it monopolizes an entire forum.

IF you read my Post closely, ***I did suggest a solution.*** I said I enjoy Grampy Bobbys posts, not that I always agree with what is said. There are many threads and comments from posters I find terrible, but I must endure, as they too have the right to post!

Really: What are the odds you think that Russ is actually going to give Grampy Bobby is own forum? Then thousands of others are going to want their own forum too!

It's all about the volume of threads by this single user. If there were 3 other users like GB, General forum would be a private playground for those users.

We are lucky it is just one, and many think his stuff is spam.

YOU GOT THAT?

I got it and I have my reading glass's on so you didn't have to cap it.

I also put in a suggestion limiting the amount of threads a user can post per day. Looks like you are not interested in even considering that.

Other users post lots of useless drivel over and over again, nothing is said about any of these users, and most is quite distasteful I might add.

I hope, "you got that"!

I missed the last line, because you wrote it so SMALL!

There might be a great forum poster who is worthy of 7 threads on page one, so I'm not into a limit. The public decides 'what is enough'.

Grampy isn't that user.

YOU GOT THAT?!

I certainly got that!

There are others of us, who do enjoy Grampy Bobbys posts, so you are not hearing about the people who do enjoy his posts, although sometimes contraversial, and perhaps not everyones cup of tea.

I have only saw about a few people in forums actually complain. In your opinion Grampy Bobby is not worthy of 7 threads. So now people are going to decide on who is worthy of how many threads? Next will it be on who can post so many times?

I know you got that. 😉
