Could this "abrupt change" be a purposeful change in design by the designer?

there was no intelligent designer millions of years ago as indicated by the total absence of evidence that there was an intelligent designer millions of years ago and the fact that the "abrupt change" is explained by evolution. Now there is an intelligent designer; us.

Obviously, you are talking about a god. Why would a god make that particular "abrupt change" happen millions of years ago? for what purpose? and, given that evolution explains it just fine, why should we believe it was a god and not evolution?

Now we have uncovered one of the problems with you two. A lack of thinking.

For all of you creationists, how about if your god actually created evolution? There are many men and women of science who also believe in a religion organized around dogma and a belief in a god. They simply decide that whatever processes they discover where created by God. They are able to believe in evolution and the scientific method without any religious conflict. Teaching religion, including intelligent design, should be left to parents and churches and kept out of schools.
