Im takin your criptic message to point me toward the perimeter

Let a side length =A
perimeter P=4A
Diagonal = x

x= sqrt(2)A
4x/sqr(2) = 4A=P

so when x = sqrt(2)P/4

edit: This seems non-sensical as well, and is obviously not outside the box far enough.

so a squared plus b squared equals c squared.
well heres the obvious cheating answer...a=0 b=10 c=10
and if b=c (or a=c) then b squared= c squared. so then if b=c in this equation a squared plus b squared=c squared we can take out "b squared= c squared" because they are equal. so we are left with a squared=0. so a=0 is the only way i can think of
