Very impressive!

Thank you.

Mr. Ree asked the dentist how much it would cost him to have a tooth pulled out, and the dentist replied, "1 2 3 4 5 dollars." What does that mean?

The dentist said 1 2 3 4 5 dollars, not 12,345 dollars. There's a difference. In fact, I think I should ask just how much does it cost to remove a tooth, and how can one determine that from the dentist's statement?

clever answer.

But by writing it numerically, the questioner has implied a different question since "2" literally means "two" not "to".

The question is either implying a different answer, is incorrectly written, or is just cheesy as hell for using spelling mistakes as pseudo-creativity.

It is, in fact, implying a different answer. The dentist clearly told him the price of one tooth:

"One tooth, Ree, for five dollars."

Simple as that 😉

Ah yes, purposely spelling incorrectly to create a riddle.
